Out with the Old, In with the New

Hey Guys! ☺
Getting to the very end of a year full of choppiness and inconsistency on the part of the blog, I've finally decided to make the one change that had been swirling around in my head from really this same time last year. I'm sure some of you have already noticed what said change was, but if you haven't, say hi to the blog and it's new, permanent name, "All About Arthropods"!
It took a lot to change the name that I'd had for the past year +, but I couldn't put up with the blog going by something as inaccurate as, "All About Insects Blog", for much longer. I'm not strictly into insects (cockroaches, earwigs, grasshoppers, beetles, etc.) , but rather take interest in the entire group of animals with exoskeletons, segmented bodies, and jointed appendages. My blog surely reflects this.
In fact, if this was still "All About Insects Blog", I technically couldn't even post about this guy. ↓

Adult male P.regius
This unintended leftover from last post is an adult male Phidippus regius, popularly known as the Regal Jumping Spider and also as an arachnid. Since this isn't a six-legged arthropod, it would have made no sense including it in a post while under the name "All About Insects Blog".
Of course, I also understand that exchanging the "Insects Blog" portion of the blog's name for the severely underused term, "Arthropods", will no doubt bring its audience down very considerably. However, that is really the only downside I can think of and the last thing I want to do is mislead people or even give off false information, so I don't mind a bit. Also, while on the topic of bringing down the blog's audience, I've realized that all of the links I have shared to Facebook and various arthropod enthusiast forums will now become inactive and so instead of leaving things that way, I will be updating them all very shortly. ☺
In closing, I'd like to note that I haven't gotten around to updating the pictures on the blog's Facebook page yet (so don't think you're going crazy if they still display the old name) and that there may be some more exciting changes/updates coming soon, so stay tuned! I hope you all enjoyed this post and until we meet again, goodbye! ☺

As for me though, I kinda doubt it will match up to all the new species this year brung, I've already filled up my existing space in the front portion of our attic and am restarting my isopod collection in a closet! :p

    3. Thanks! :) Well you never know, I thought I was completely out of space, but I just reorganized my "Bug Closet", and somehow ended up with more room! :D Hopefully you'll be able to find another empty corner to stuff some more enclosures in! ;p
